Morwenna Covid-19 Risk Assessment

This Risk Assessment has been carried out following the guidelines on the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) web site www.hse.gov.uk
Assessment carried out by: Paul Taylor
Morwenna Surf Chalet, Riviere Towans, TR27 5AF
Date assessment was carried out: 08/01/2022
Potential Hazards

-
Transmission of the virus amongst guests staying in Morwenna or between guests and housekeepers at changeover
-
Contamination of the site by guests who are asymptomatic or who develop symptoms whilst in situ.
Who is at Risk?

-
Other guests within the party or with subsequent bookings, particularly the elderly or those with underlying health conditions.
-
Cleaning and Maintenance Contractors and their immediate families, particularly if they care for relatives who are elderly or have underlying health conditions.
-
The wider public locally.
Actions to Control Risk
-
Anybody who is exhibiting symptoms or who has any reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus up to 10 days prior to their booking must follow the Government instruction to self-isolate and follow NHS guidelines. Therefore, they should not travel to the property.
-
Housekeepers / Contractors who are exhibiting symptoms or who have any reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus within the previous 10 days should not come into the property and they should follow NHS guidelines.
-
We ask guests to follow guidelines on social distancing. Morwenna is a single detached building with the lower floor storage room. There are private pathways on all sides of the chalet and neighbouring properties are a reasonable distance away. The open spacious nature of Riviere Towans means that it is relatively easy for guests to avoid contact with each other.
-
We will provide liquid soap and anti-bacterial/viral spray cleaner for guests to use during their stay. Guests should ensure they have hand sanitiser to take out and about where hand washing is not easily available.
-
Guests will access Morwenna using keys stored in a secure key-box by the front door. The code will be provided to guests by separate communication. Keys should be sprayed with anti-viral spray before being returned to the box upon departure and a text sent to us to confirm their return.
Implemented Changes to Cleaning Policy

We always strive to maintain extremely high standards of cleanliness at Morwenna. However for the duration of the Corvid-19 outbreak we have adopted the cleaning practices recommended by Public Health England (PHE) for Cleaning in Non-Healthcare Settings https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-decontamination-in-non-healthcare-settings/covid-19-decontamination-in-non-healthcare-settings

As guests may not exhibit symptoms until after they return home, we will treat every clean as if the guests had potentially been infected. Therefore, we will:

-
Use disposable cloths and mop heads.
-
Clean with diluted chlorine bleach or other cleaners which destroy the virus.
-
Pay particular attention to frequently touched surfaces such as door handles and handrails.
To Protect our Cleaning Team we will:
-
Ensure rubber gloves, masks and any other necessary PPE are worn.
-
Limit the number of team members in any property to two at a time.
-
Ask guests to strip their own beds of sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases.
-
Ask guests to empty all bins and place tied bags into the external waste bins.
-
All linen provided will be hot washed and tumble dried. Clean linen will be wrapped in disposable protective packaging.
